Go to Game Preferences on the Main Screen or click Game, OOTP Preferences from within the game. You will see the option to disable FaceGen, but you have to quit and restart the game for it to take effect.
You may also note that there is a mode selection for FaceGen: Standard or Troubleshooting. I don't know how troubleshooting works, but I believe it is designed to allow Tech Support folks to walk you through analysis and fix, if possible. This is what the manual says about that setting:

Switches between “standard” and “troubleshooting” FaceGen modes. Most players should leave this setting on standard. However, when troubleshooting FaceGen issues, technical support may ask you to change this to Troubleshooting mode, which uses a hidden window for rendering instead of pixel buffers.

I don't know what that means, but it seems to indicate some hope of a resolution if you contact Tech Support.
