About two months ago, this very issue was discussed, and it was assured to me that this issue would definitely be fixed for Patch 3. This is why I am so upset.

Maybe the easiest way to fix this issue would be to have fully customizable playoffs in the next game. You could choose your own playoff structure, and which teams pair off in each playoff round. Then you should be able to set the schedule accordingly.
I would imagine that not too many people encounter this issue, because most people probably have the playoffs set up as baseball traditionally has, with only divisional winners and one or two rounds. But I would love to be able to do an NBA/NHL, March Madness, or a College WS playoff setup.
