The discovery by Ren Petrie of the elusive Jing Johnson was indeed a very significant find. He was the last pitcher remaining from the 20th Century to lead a club in wins for a season to be found.

That now leaves only Tony (Fred) Daniels of the 1945 Philadelphia Phillies outstanding as a player who was a regular for a team in any one season from the 20th Century. A regular I have defined as a player who played more games than any other player for a team in a given season at 1 position.
