Game visit at Centre College today .. Nate got to stand on the sidelines with some other potential recruits. A little backstory first .. Nate is one of those players who is always next to the coordinator when he isn't in the game. Back when he was a frosh and soph .. the coordinator couldn't turn around with stepping on Nate.

The first half today he stood away from the team with the rest of the recruits but in the second half he was the only recruit still down there (others I assume were with their parents) so Nate started mingling with the team and hanging out with James. James is Nate's best friend and a freshman DT on Centre. By mid 3rd Quarter Nate was talking with the coaches and high-fiveing other players on the team. By the start of the 4th he was talking to offensive coordinator while the D was on the field. Centre was up 27-0 so James got in ... James made a big tackle on 4th down and I look up and damn if Nate wasn't 5 yards onto the field slapping James on the helmet.

As we walk down onto the field the coaches are already calling him Gurt (his nickname here) and telling him they will be seeing him soon. First words to me is "I'm coming here and I'm playing next year" God love the kid. Now where to come up with $35,000 a year!!!
