Curtains Closing On The Season?

It looks bleak.

California is 4 games back in the wild card with 5 to play. They need to win out, one game with Long Beach and the final 4 games of the season are at home against the already clinched Los Angeles Quakes.

Normally I'd think that Kirk is a nice dude and will rest everybody, play a bunch of minor leaguers, and get ready for the playoffs, laying down nicely for me. I doubt it.

Green Bay finishes their season with a game against Louisville, and then a 4 spot with Birmingham. Help me out here, Oak.

Right now Green Bay's magic number is 2, so we can win out and still not make the postseason. That would suck, and since Green Bay is on a 4 game winning streak right now, guys are booking tee times already.

To make matters worse, we have to go these last games without a 100% effort from leadoff hitter Francisco Mendez, who had a breakout season but suffered a concussion and is listed as day-to-day for the next 2 weeks.

It's gonna take a miracle.
