Welcome to the Joy in Mudville League!
The following guidelines will be used:
1. League play will begin in 1970. Each GM/manager will have both an American League and a National League franchise. Trading between one GM/manager's two teams is prohibited.
2. Teams will begin with the spring training rosters from that season.
3. All rules from that season will be in effect. Thus, the American League will use the DH beginning in 1973, the National League will not.
4. GM/managers are responsible for submitting and adjusting all team roster decisions. GM/managers should check the league report that will be posted to follow his franchises’ progress and league announcements.
5. For a trade to become official, both GMs must send an email to the league commissioner within two days of the agreed trade. Draft choices are eligible to be part of a trade.
6. Trades may be made with computer-run teams. However, you may not trade for draft picks from a computer-run team.
7. A five-round amateur draft will be held each June. GMs are required to submit their draft list by the specified date posted on the league site. Specific directions for the draft list will also be posted.
8. Free agency will go into effect in 1976. More details will follow.
9. All games will be simulated by the league commissioner using Out of the Park Baseball 2007. Sims will be run a month at a time approximately every two weeks. Thus, a season will be played out in about two months of actual time. The off-season will consist of a short break. Trades can be made at this time.
