July 8, 1877 - Sunday Base Ball Report

Chicago White Stockings 18-7
Louisville Grays 14-11
Hartford Dark Blues 13-9
Boston Red Caps 12-10
St. Louis Brown Stockings 7-18
Cincinnati Reds 6-15

Louisville, Hartford and Boston are all closing the gap with Chicago, but there isn't much time left until the White Stockings get their injured stars back. Can these other teams turn the 1877 season into a real pennant race? Chicago has three games with both Boston and Hartford coming up, so we should know soon.
