July 29, 1877 - Sunday Base Ball Report
Chicago White Stockings 22-9
Hartford Dark Blues 19-16
Louisville Grays 18-14
Boston Red Caps 17-18
St. Louis Brown Stockings 11-21
Cincinnati Reds 9-18
As the league heads into the dog days of August, it will take a real slump by Chicago to give the rest of the clubs any hope. Meanwhile, Cincinnati has been rumored to be on the verge of financial collapse for about a month now, and all of the other teams are reportedly losing money as well. It is beginning to look like Hulbert's league may not last as long as its predecessor, the National Association.
