Matthews was one of the originals. He dropped to club in 12/01 with a record of 2-7. He came within a win of getting back to the main division several times but never was able to pull it off. His longest winning streak was 4 fights. He was knocked down 32 times and stopped 14 times. He only scored 8 knockdowns and 3 stoppages.
He was not a good 6 rated fighter. He retired after two straight wins over TC's.
