16. Richard Dunn vs. Levi Forte Forte UD

Fight summaries:

1. Jimmerson started great with a 2 count KD in R1 & a dominating round. He then faded, and Cox sealed the win with a 4 count KD in Round 8.

2. In a dull, low-scoring contest, Smith got the nod, though i had it a draw. Polite was way too polite!

3. Wild Bill and Card first fought a low-scoring draw. In the rematch, Wild Bill was a wild man and decked Art 3 times in the 5th, for 8, 8 & 2 counts, when the ref kindly stopped it!

4. Lou decked Nix for an 8 count in Round 3, and Brian returned the favor in a desperate Round 8, but it wasn't quite enough.

5. Winston dominated, pitching a shutout! He cut Hubert over the right eyebrow in Round 5, then decked him for a 6 count before reopening the cut. The doc wisely stopped it! Winston is not living up to his name, as people are starting to take notice!

6. Cawley led throughout, then let up & was knocked down for a 2 count in round 7, as Logan scored almost half his point total for the fight. Cawley danced in round 8, and the fight wasn't as close as the score indicated!

7. Musto & Lane traded blows and rounds in the first fight, for a draw. Garing was slightly ahead in the 2nd match. He cut Musto in round 6, and the bout was stopped for a moment. The cut was reopened & checked in rounds 7 & 8 (twice in 8). 2 fine contests!

8. Charlie landed the harder punches, with 3 of them being 5 pointers, and Gunnar was on the ropes in round 7. Gunnar led through 4, then rallied in the 8th, but it wasn't enough!

9. The two battled to a spirited draw initially (I had O'Leary, 77-76, but am admittedly prejudiced). I had O'Leary winning the rematch, as he dominated rounds 7 & 8, but 2 of the judges felt Erjavec won. In any event, there were 2 good contests.

10. Green landed the harder blows, but fewer of them, and fouled 4 times. Lubbers did just enough to win, & fouled 3 times himself. The fouls were the major part of the action, as Rudi covered himself more in gory than glory!

11. Amos cut Mclaglen on the forehead in round 1, & the cut was reopened in the 3rd, 4th & 6th. Victor was ahead, but knew time was running out, even though he had a great cut man! So Amos's fan contingent can breathe a sigh of relief as he advances!

12. Turnbow landed more punches each round, but Butterbean landed 2 huge ones in round 3. This angered Mel, who unleashed a mighty hook in the 4th round, cutting the left eyelid, and the ref stopped it! Butterbean, while upset at the stoppage, was philosophical about it, and headed back to the buffet, where he became incensed upon learning the Mohegan had switched to a new pricing schema, charging by the weight of the plate! Turnbow is starting to look like a contender, and his loyal fans went wild at the conclusion of the fight!

13. Robinson was way ahead in this one, and I'd even pre-written him as the victor, but then Lannon got an 8 count KD in Round 8 to make it respectable. The one judge must have been related!

14. Llewelyn started slow, then came on fast. Mel Harris started slow and stayed that way! It wasn't close.

15. Lewis walloped Gardner from one side of the ring to the other! He had knockdowns in rounds 5 & 8, and scored 3 times Chico's points in an easy, lopsided win!

16. Dunn led through 3 rounds, then Levi scored knockdowns in rounds 4 & 5, and Dunn was done!

On to the 2nd half of the Round!!!!!
