This involved the ongoing lawsuit between a St. Louis fantasy sport company, and MLB. MLB has lost repeatedly, including at the Federal Appeals court level. MLB's options are grim at this point.
OOTP had a legal opinion from SEGA concerning real rosters. They did not like it, but they abided by it. Now, OOTP is not tied to SEGA anymore. New advice allowed them to bundle a real rosters set.
It is the player likenesses and logos that are clear no-nos. OOTP does not provided these.
