Chicago 3, Louisville 0
For the third time in a week, J. O'Neill threw a shutout for Chicago, after having had just one shutout for the entire season previously. Once again, O'Neill was completely unhittable. A bases-loaded triple by Joe Start in the bottom of the sixth inning provided all the runs Chicago would need (or get).
And with that, Chicago clinched their second consecutive National League pennant. It ended up being much closer than expected, but Chicago's superior talent won out in the end.
