May 2008 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche
29th May 2008
After the short and scary adventure OOTP 8, we are back with good old OOTP 2007. This was another lesson in the category "never buy a game until it's at least three months old"
Tonight we face 42 year old warhorse Greg Maddux, but in our current shape I'm not sure if we finish this month above .500. I'm still far away from happy with our line-up. There's too little power around. It can't be that our lead-off man Cesar Izturis who has no power at all is third on the team in RBI's. Gross, Victorino, Fielder and Hall simple must show more!
Game #50 – Milwaukee [25-24] (C. Capuano 5-2, 3.86 ERA) at San Diego [33-16] (G. Maddux 4-3, 3.50 ERA)
SS C. Izturis - CF S. Victorino - LF R. Braun - 1B P. Fielder - RF G. Gross - 3B M. Gamel - 2B O. Infante - C H. Blanco
This game is what you expect when two of the best pitching teams face each other. Yet defense was the decisive factor to choose the winner.
San Diego had a 2-1 lead with two outs in the bottom of the ninth when SS
Cruz threw the game winning ball into the crowd, allowing
Prince Fielder to score the tying run. Then it was
Freddy Garcia's turn to pitch three scoreless innings. In the twelth inning we had again a runner on 2nd with two outs when 1B
Gonzalez threw a ball away.
Escobar scored the go ahead run which eventually was also the winning run.
Victorino's outfield assist at 2B ended the game.
Milwaukee at San Diego: 3-2 (12)
W: F. Garcia (2-2), L: H. Bell (0-1)
H: T. Mastny (8)
BS: C. Meredith (4)

NL West teams, while we are 12-3 against our
NL Central foes.
