End of March news.

Joe Fraziers manager has announced that he will be defending his title against #1 WBC Buster Mathis in July. Many thought he would be facing Muhammad Ali, but that would mean losing the WBC title, as the rules say you have got to face the #1 after winning a title. The WBO rules are the same, but Ali had announced that would be ready to be stripped in order to fight Smokin'. By taking this fight Buster Mathis will be stripped of his NABF title, that will now be up for grabs.

Ali announced the day after that he will be facing WBO #1 Gregorio Peralta, also in July. He commented: "Gregorio Peralta is a bum; inside of seven the Argentinian will be done.
A bum I have to beat to get to Joe; he will be punished, blow by blow.
Frazier is watching, have the fight contracts to sign,
After I beat the Gorilla, all the titles will be mine." Ali has beaten Gregorio three times before as he simply keeps working his way up to that #1 ranking. Has has taken him out in the 2nd, the 14th and once it went the 15 round distance.

It has been rumoured that George Chuvalo could be the one part of a fight for the now vacant NABF title.
