It is now official that George Chuvalo will be fighting for the Nabf title. The opponent will be Al Jones. The fight will take place in August. The venue is yet to be announced.

It has been announced that Oscar Bonavena will be stripped of his LABA title since he has not defended it in more than a year. He won the title in April last year against tough Manuel Ramos by a 12 round unanimous decision.

The ring magazine has now stated that they, starting today, will do a monthly top 10 of the heavyweights. So here it is:

1. Joe Frazier, WBA & WBC champ
2. Muhammad Ali, WBO champ
3. Jerry Quarry, Undefeated IBF champ
4. Gregorio Peralta
5. Buster Mathis
6. George Chuvalo
7. Oscar Bonavena
8. Al Jones
9. Leotis Martin
10. Dave Zyglewicz.

Most surprising is that Billy Daniels has been completely left out and also that Gregorio Peralta has been put before Buster Mathis.
