Jerry Quarry v Dave Zyglewicz

First defence for Jerry since winning the title with a UD over Al Jones in January. My guess is a pretty easy win against a game opponent who can take loads of punishment.

Round 1:
Quarry throws many flurry, not many punches hit, but he keeps Dave at bay. Dave comes back with a couple of good punches himself. 10-5

Round 2:
Quarry starts out the agressor landing a hard cross and a combo that hurts Dave. Big round for Jerry. 20-4

Round 3:
Jerry seems to cruise and Dave seems to try to end the fight with a single punch. When he does that he makes it easy for Jerry. 9-2

Round 4:
Jerry lands a hook that opens a cut over Daves left eyebrow. The rest of the round is back and forward action which Jerry again gets the best of. 20-10

Round 5:
A minute in the round, Dave lands his best punch of the fight. A big hook, followed by a solid cross. Quarry clinches and stops Daves attack. In the end of the round its Jerry in control landing good punches. 14-13

Round 6:
Dave misses and Jerry counters again and again. Jerry lands wicked combos, but Daves iron chin is working for him. 23-4

Round 7:
Another round of punishment. 22-6

Round 8:
Finally Dave gets his timing right. He lands a good left hook followed by a three punch combo. He lands another combo and sends Jerry down for the count. He is back up at 8, and survives the rest of the round. 0-21

Round 9:
Jerry trowhs a punch after the break and the ref takes a point from him. Dave has another strong round as Jerry seems to have some long-term effect of the KD from last round. 6-12

Round 10:
The round starts slow as Jerry holds looking to fully recover. Which he does. A minute in he lands a big combination and then dominates. 10-1

Round 11:
A close round with a lot of dirty infighting. An accidental headbutt from Dave causes a cut at his right eye. 8-9

Round 12:
Jerry dominates. 15-2

Round 13:
Jerry lands a short uppercut that sends the tired Dave to the floor. It wasn't a big shot, but it doesn't take much at this point as he is really tiring out. 18-4

Round 14:
Jerrys cut is starting to look worse, but the doctor says he can continue. A close round where both fighters look really tired. 10-10

Round 15:
Dave will need a knockout here.
Jerry easily dominates this last round as Dave never gets his chance to land that big punch, so we go the scorecards.

145-138, 145-138, 144-139 all for the winner by unanimous decision and still IBF heavyweight champion... Jerry Quarry.

Jerry moves to 25-0-0 (20) and now has a free defence to choose. Dave moves out of the top 10 to a 23-2-0 (18) record.
