Here's the number of 2-game series scheduled in the 2006 MLB original schedule:
2 - fifteen clubs
3 - nine clubs
4 - five clubs
5 - one club
That works out to an average of 2.73 two-game series scheduled per team. Basically, it's near the minimum number of two-game series needed to complete the schedule.
