Paris, France - The scene is Le Salle Wagram and it's a small but noisy crowd when Meyer "KO" Christner steps through he ropes to face local idol Marcel Lauriot. Most serious fight fans at ringside have put their francs on the big hard-punching American. The first two rounds are literally give and take, with no clear advantage to either man, though near the close of the second round Lauriot lands a hard wallop to Christner's chin that seems to wabble him. Seconds into the third round, this reporter turned to check out the shapely brunette in the next aisle, when boom! Lauriot crashed home another hard right to Christner's temple and it was all over save the counting. The handsome Frenchman is now 29-8-0 with 18 knockouts and a lovely brunette for a fiance.
