New York - A massive flood of ticket requests convinced promoter Mike Jacobs to open negotiations with Yankee Stadium to stage the Louis-Schmeling fight there instead of Madison Square Garden. As many as 80,000 spectators are expected to attend one of the most highly publicized championship fights in the history of the ring.
