Kansas City Royalty Dominates American League Gold Glove Team
If the American League Gold Glove team is any indication, you probably don't want to hit the ball to the Kansas City outfield.
The Royals swept all three outfield spots on the 1970 Gold Glove team. Left fielder Lou Piniella, center fielder Amos Otis and right fielder Pat Kelly were all honored.
No other team placed more than one player on the slick-fielding squad.
Pitcher: Jim Kaat (Minnesota Twins)
Catcher: Ray Fosse (Cleveland Indians)
First Baseman: Pete Ward (New York Yankees)
Second Baseman: Ted Kubiak (Milwaukee Brewers)
Third Baseman: Brooks Robinson (Baltimore Orioles)
Shortstop: Luis Aparicio (Chicago White Sox)
Left Fielder: Lou Piniella (Kansas City Royals)
Center Fielder: Amos Otis (Kansas City Royals)
Right Fielder: Pat Kelly (Kansas City Royals)
