Title Fights

LW - Willie Fitzgerald (12/CH) (23-2-4) scores a nice upset with a TKO9 over Young Griffo (CH/6) (40-9-7) to win the WBO LW title and send the LW division into a mess. Griffo's WBC and IBF title were not on the line so by the rules of the LBA both titles will now have a tourney. Which means the top 16 LW's are tied up for the next two months. Attell (the WBA champ) and Fitzgerald should have a couple of easy defenses.

Fitzgerald was landing the harder punches in this fight and cut Griffo over the right eye in the 4th round. It was reopened 3 times before the ring doctor finally signaled to the ref to stop the fight. Griffo was leading on my card 77-75 at the stopage but had lost the last two rounds.

FW - Jem Driscoll (4/4) (45-8-1) UD10 Will Curley (13/17) (23-12-3) 99-91 (Driscoll is contemplating a leap to LW to join one of the title tournies)

HW - Jack Marks (101/65) (14-16-1) TKO2 Charley Mitchell (38/77) (32-15-8) (TKO due to injury)
