Middleweight Round 1
January 4, 1895
Jack Dempsey 21-0-0 (12) v/s Dan Creedon 18-1-2 (13)
Creedon came in undertrained and you could really tell it. He was carrying his arms low after the first round. Dempsey was punishing Creedon even up to the point when the fight was stopped by the referee. The ref ruled a rabbit punch by Dempsey to be blatant and disqualified him. Dempsey outlanded Creedon 420-120 through 11.5 rounds.
Dan Creedon gets a DQ victory
John Banks 22-1-1 (12) v/s Charles Turner 21-0-0 (16)
This fight was very close through the first three rounds. In the fourth Turner caught Banks with a clean uppercut and put him down. Banks managed to get up but Turner was quickly back on him putting him down again for the final time.
Charles Turner bangs out a knockout victory
Finals February 7,1895
