I do not have any trouble with tar.gz files
I tried to support the OOTP guys by going with a couple of the companies offered here. One company sold out to a bigger company and my prices went through the roof. The other guy, I used twice (I gave the guy a second chance thining it could have been me), both times I was never even able to get up and running. I would never suggest this person to anyone.
I love GoDaddy. It's cheap with tons of sapce and bandwidth (I was shut down with the first company I used on here for using up my share of bandwidth while building my site in my first month - I had to buy more bandwidth to get back up and running again) and you can call them 24 hours a day and get help.
I really tried to support the local guys here, it just never worked out for me
