This fight was not very close. Martin proves still he is the man to beat in the middleweight division. Martin said after the fight that he would like to fight undefeated welterweight champ, Tommy Ryan if he holds onto his belt next week. Ryan has showed no interst in moving up to take on Harris.

[LW] (WBC) Joe Gans 22-1-0 (6) v/s Jack McAuliffe 22-2-0 (15)
After the first round it looked like Gans was out matched with the hard hitting McAuliffe. Gans found his timing after that round landing quick counter punches and dancing around the wild swinging of McAuliffe. McAuliffe caught Gans with a big hook in round seven dropping him to the canvas for an eight count. The rest of the fight Gans chose not to step in and slug with McAuliffe, instead he used his boxing skills and picked up a unanimous decision.
