I'm not looking for priority over AI teams as much as an equal chance to seek the free agent's services - like the other team offers a minor league deal and I'll offer him a big league deal. Since I don't know when a player is about to be released (I have waivers off in my game), I can't really seek a trade for the players in question. For me, this isn't occasional either now. In my league, it's happening about once a week now and rarely does a free agent get released without another team snapping him up, this because I'm using a database league with ghost minor league players and so the amount of talent available is pretty thin.
