Yes, and my best friends when I was an undergrad used to sign, and say Bennet Cerf isn't dead whenever I opened my gob.
I think my most memorable time was telling an elderly Japanese man that the prevailing form of theatre in Japan was comedy because they have noh dramas. He kept insisting that they have dramas and never got it.
