If I were selling copies of OOTP 8/07 -- which, I own three copies of (two 8's and 1 07) -- then I'd see the issue. It's taking away from their current sales but I'm not doing that.
Anyway, this whole thread is moot now. My wife is a teacher and I've been spring cleaning lately. I found the STB and STB '03 boxes and discs and decided to put them up here in case anyone was a "collector" of OOTP, which hey, some people collect snail shells and crazy stuff. It's possible. Or if someone new to OOTP 8 just wanted to get one of the old games and see what it was like. Hell, I was willing to sell it for shipping more or less. Just to get rid of it. Then I decided to go ahead and throw my other licenses up too since they do me no good now.
However, I got sidetracked there. My wife is an English teacher and she has some boys in her class that are into sports and baseball but she can't get them to do their homework and stuff. So, I donated all of my old OOTP copies (even the licenses) to her and she is enticing them to do their work by offering those games as "prizes" -- I failed to mention the part where most of these games are free now. Hopefully they don't know that yet and will work to get the games.
Eitherway, at least they're going to good use now. And, uh, hopefully OOTPDev doesn't have an issue with that. /roll eyes
