August 1101
It was a bad, bad idea allowing Crazy Harry to win and then defend the Old London Crown. As expected, nobody knew what to expect from him. Crazy Harry cried in the ring at times, and although he was looking like he was going to overcome his sobbing to beat jousting horse Frazer Purdy on points, he fell down and did not get up in the 9th inning. Somehow a man with more losses than wins holds the Crown. Needless to say, following the fight Miskin was un-cleared to box for a few months.
In York towne, however, there was yet another tight fight between champion Archer Rebow and #1 contender Axegrinden Brown. This time, it was Brown's turn to take the close decision. In May of last year, Rebow won the same way. It's almost worth saying that both men ought to be recognized except that would be a Danish move.
Intertowne
------------------
Shackled Frenchman 4-3-1 def. Blind Rasmussen 2-4-0 (1) by decision
The Scots decided to bring in two of the manhood-testers to let the crowd know who the beginners train against. Needless to say, the crowd was unimpressed, although we find ourselves saying it anyway so perhaps the saying thereof was not needless after all.
London
------------------
Dean Milledge 8-3-1 (3) def. Logan Tennison 3-10-1 (1) by decision
Milledge proved the easy victor but has to be a little disappointed that it went the distance.
King Henry 9-0-0 (8) def. Howard Smith 8-2-0 (4) by TKO-9
The King continues his mastery of the division by pummelling Smith so hard that the referee had to stop the bout early.
Frazer Purdy 5-8-0 (2) def. Crazy Harry Miskin 8-6-0 (5) by KO-9
Yep, you just don't know which Crazy Harry you're going to see. This was the one that washes his hands thirty-five times a day because they smell of his mother. And now Frazer Purdy is a really, really bad champion.
Scotland
-----------------
Ryan MacBrayne 2-8-1 (1) def. Dean MacDavid 2-3-0 (1) by KO-9
MacBrayne hadn't really shown much before this fight, but Highlanders always seem to bring the best out of each other. They also bring out each others' blood and teeth.
Marc Ogilvie 6-0-0 (5) def. Ryan Farquhar 4-2-0 (4) by KO-2
Awfully brutal for such a short match: Farquhar hit the turf twice and developed a nasty cut under his eye as well.
Ben Malise 3-1-2 (1) def. Kian Ainslie 0-7-0 by decision
Malise just didn't look ready to fight, as he just squeaked by the winless Ainslie.
Taylor MacCloy 7-3-0 (4) def. Callum MacRanald 2-4-0 (2) by KO-7
Early or late, highlander matches always end up in knockouts.
Calum Ring 2-6-0 (1) def. Dylan Lindsey 4-5-0 (1) by DQ-2
Referee Angus MacDonald does not allow blows to the kilt. It is just not done in Scotland.
York
-------------------
Coelmund Withy 8-4-0 (4) def. Leofric Episcopus 3-3-1 by decision
Leofric should know that there is no shame in losing to a better man.
Gael Tunstall 4-3-0 (2) def. Headbumper Dejyothin 9-5-0 (9) by KO-10
With six knockdowns, the fans loved this match almost as much as they'd love a public hanging. The 20th ranked Tunstall plans to move way, way up following this one.
Ealhmund Sproston 8-1-0 (4) def. Ethelbal Alty 5-7-1 (2) by KO-3
Sproston avenges the sole loss of his career in grand fashion.
Hrothgar Workman 8-5-2 (4) def. Garfield Randull 7-3-0 (4) by KO-3
Not every fight has to end with the vet getting clobbered by the rookie. Sometimes it's the rookie's turn to get clobbered.
Beostar Marsland 8-2-1 (7) def. Whitesmith Agar 3-5-5 (1) by TKO-4
While we're happy to see Agar move on from his draw-tastic ways, we aren't sure if this is necessarily a good direction for him either.
Axegrinden Brown 13-2-0 (8) def. Archer Rebow 12-3-0 (6) by decision
The third fight between these men ends very closely. Eodric Rumpelstiltskin scored the match 6 rounds for Brown, 5 for Rebow, and 1 even.
