Boston Red Caps 16-13

Cincinnati dropped two of three to Chicago this week, and with games coming up this week against Chicago and Syracuse, this race could get a whole lot more interesting. Meanwhile, Boston had five games in five days against the Providence Grays and won all five of them, catapulting themselves back into the thick of the race. Individually, Cleveland's Dalrymple and Boston's Anson continue to be the league's best hitters, while left-hander Bobby Mitchell of Cincinnati continues to impress as a hurler.
