[LW] (WBC) Joe Gans 27-1-0 (7) v/s Bobby Dobbs 29-4-1 (17)
After the first three rounds the genral feeling is that Gans should keep his distance and box Dobbs. In the first two rounds Gans tried to exchange punches and failed miserably especially in the second when he was knockeddown. Through the sixth round it is becoming evident that Gans is clearly a more skilled fighter but you can't count out Dobbs yet. Through round eleven it was more of the same but in round twelve Dobbs kept Gans at a close distance and stole the round. Rounds 13 and 14 were close, in the 15th round Dobbs scored another big knockdown but couldn't finish Gans off. The scorecards read 143-139, 141-141, and 142-140.

[FW] (WBC) Young Griffo 24-1-1 (9) v/s George Dixon 23-4-0 (4) {Round 3}
WOW! Another great fight between two amazing fighters. The rounds went back and forth from the opening bell in this third fight between these two men. The ref played a huge part tonight as he was constantly stopping the action to warn Dixon for something. Dixon even had a point removed in one round for holding and hitting. In the fifteenth round both fighters were going at it, there was a clinch and the ref had to seperate the fighters as the ref moved back Dixon threw a punch and the ref stopped the fight. The ref raised Griffo's hand as the victor because he claimed the punch was a blatant foul. Griffo was even begging him to let the fight continue but the decision had been made.

[BW] (WBC) Billy Plimmer 26-2-1 (11) v/s Terry McGovern 11-1-0 (8)
Plimmer has great boxing skills but tonight his strategy was to rough up the younger fighter. The strategy back fired when McGovern caught him with a uppercut/hook combo in the eleventh. Plimmer's body was limp before he hit the canvas, the ref counted him out even while his corner was sprinting into the ring. Plimmer was out just for a few moments but they carted him out of the ring just to be safe. That was a tremendous combo that won McGovern the championship.

Gorman may not be the most intelligent fighter but he always is ready to go to war. Tonight he did just that but again he fell just short of winning the championship, losing a split decision.
