July comes and goes...
I finally get too fed up with Dave Hansen on 7/11 after he refuses to be sent to AAA so I finally ate $8.5 Million and cut him. I called up 23 year old Tim Hummel who was more major league ready. Hansen had a .739 OPS but also had 20 errors and a .916 fielding % in only 77 games.
Towards the end of the month, I also put Carl Everett into CF to help out with the defense there, shifting Pedro Valdes back to RF.
We continue to struggle and closed out July at 11-16.

You can expect to see some contract extensions done in August and September although with my lessons learned, I'll probably try to aim for 1 or 2 year contracts tops.
Next Post (August): Heading towards the home stretch and figuring out who to extend.
