No problem. I hear you about the day-to-day. I sim each game and micro-manage in between and I waited out the problem as I mentioned. I can see you being frustrated for much longer in real time.
So, I'll try to give some advice on how I handled this situation from memory because I don't want to ever recreate that problem, if you don't mind! And maybe some others will pipe up as well.
First, if your amateur draft is being fed by feeder leagues, you can use high school and college stats to make judgements until you get your scouting staff back online.
If not, you mentioned turning off scouting because this is bothering you. Does that mean
all of your scouts are in this unresponsive condition? Because if that is not the case, what you could do is turn off scouting for most of the year, and turn it back on only for the time needed to scout the upcoming amateur draft. This works of course only if at least one scout can be tasked. You might have to leave scouting on until the draft to see his evaluations.
Does either of these work?
