Williams is a very different fighter than Cotto. I don't think Williams would last more than 8 rounds with Cotto. Margarito is a very different fighter than Williams though. I think he provides a much tougher fight for Cotto than Williams. I think Cotto wins fairly easily, unless Margarito is able to knock him down a couple times, which is a possibility.
The idea that Cotto needs to fight anybody before fighting Mayweather is ridiculous. They're so obviously the two best fighters in the division that it's a bit silly they don't just fight and get it over with.
