Simulating college baseball with accurate results

Whilst I have been searching this evening, I have noticed from threads here that there are many issues with feeder leagues, plus from adding leagues from templates, so there's every chance this is pointless anyway, especially as this iteration of the game is about to be discarded.

However, I have created a template with college teams, however I am struggling to make it anywhere realistic.
Using the bog standard settings, I have season averages of around .280 and ERAs of 3.30. The highest home run hitters are around 10 at best, and the strikeouts can be measured on four hands, with the best pitchers hardly conceding a run. Runs per game are at 4.

Bumping the sabermetric modifiers up to Single-A level, the highest home run hitters and the best pitching ERAs are much more like real-life, but the overall league average is now at .250, and runs per game are still well short (~1.8 runs per game) of the 2004 mark of 6.17. K's are still well south of where they need to be as well.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has found any settings that can mimic college baseball without compromising on future development of the player? Or is this another seemingly good feature that proves not to be?
