Two ideas. First, I think that the game is still trying to load that old skin of yours. Could you try renaming the skin folder for a working skin to the folder name of the skin that caused you your problem and see if that works?
When you reinstalled the game, did you first delete the C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Out of the Park Developments\
OOTP Baseball 8 folder? If not, try doing that. It's a hidden folder, of note.
