My goal is to create my own league that follows the financial changes that really took place, but setup differently from MLB. However, if possible I would like real players.

Can I have the Providence Gunslingers select Joe DiMaggio in the inaugural draft and then decades later take Ken Griffey Jr. in the amateur draft? Or is this not possible?
that should be possible, I play with real leqgues and fictional players, but I think you can set up your fictional league structure, populate it with real players then assign them to teams or hold an inagural draft. someone else that plays that way can help i'm sure.
