Earned runs charged incorrectly?
This is from a game whose box and log I saved a while back with the intention of posting here but which I'd forgotten about.
Please see the attached log of the ninth inning and the resulting pitchers' lines from the box score.
Here's the basic summary:
I brought in the pitcher St-Hillaire. He promptly gave up a single, a single, and a walk. I removed him from the game because, well, he was being ineffective.
I then brought in Heath. The first batter hit into a fielder's choice. The next batter struck out. The batter after that hit a bases-clearing double. The final batter flied out.
Three runs scored in the inning. Two of the runs were charged to St-Hillaire and one was charged to Heath.
This doesn't seem right to me. The first batter Heath faced did reach, but it was on a fielder's choice. The run should still be charged to St-Hillaire, shouldn't it?
I can't seem to find the rules for this. Is this scored correctly or not?
