It's not exactly a "problem." My understanding was essentially that U.S. buyers are getting a
break, because the dollar has fallen so far, and Markus & Co. didn't want to charge the new "higher" dollar price that would be equivalent to a steady price in euros. So don't think of it as Europeans getting stuck with a higher price; think of it as Markus taking a hit on selling the game to us poorer Americans.
