This should be a very competitive fight as both men enter the ring in excellent shape. The first round is close, 8-7, in favor of Fuente. 14-0, Valdez in the 2nd. It looks as though both fighters are willing to mix it up on the inside as Fuente dominates the 3rd, 20-6. Valdez traps Fuente in his own corner and works on the inside, 16-4, in the 4th. Fuente has suffered a cut over the right eye and has swelling around the same eye. Valdez has swelling around his right eye. Valdez, 14-7, in the 6th. Valdez is working the cut over Fuente's right eye with his left jab. Valdez continues to shoot home straight lefts and wins the 8th, 15-6. A beautiful cross puts Fuente down at the end of the 9th. Fuente's cut looks worse and the blood is flowing into his eye as we start the 10th. Valdez continues to pepper shots at that cut and the ref stops the fight on the advice of the ringside doctor.
