An extension yes, but they aren't the manager. You can play with the strategy sliders to get them to send the runner more often, which is what would be realistic... telling the 3B coach that you want to be as aggressive as possible.

Might be more realistic if you had a game strategy slider, maybe several. So in game you could tell the coach you want to be more aggressive against the CF but less so against the cannon in right... and be able to make that change in the 8th inning if they changed fielders or you need a run badly in a 2 hit game. That would be good, but having the popup box on whether to go or not isn't realistic at all
