October 2008 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche
2nd October 2008
Guess the Braves were the hardest opponent we could get. I also miscalculated that we could lose home field advantage to them. On the other hand we had them as well in the first round last season. We beat them 3 games 1, winning three games in Atlanta. Every Braves starter tonight had at least 10 homers during the regular season.
Game #163 –Milwaukee [0-0] (B. Webb 8-7, 3.56 ERA) at Atlanta [0-0] (M. Harrison 12-10, 4.13 ERA)
2B C. Izturis - RF S. Victorino - LF R. Braun - 1B P. Fielder - CF J. Upton - 3B M. Reynolds - SS A. Escobar - C H. Blanco
The game started as I feared when Francoeur hit one out of the ballpark in the second. But our usually light hitting catcher Blanco started a rally in the fifth during which we scored six runs on seven hits. But things became once again close in sixth when Webb suddenly couldn't throw strikes anymore. But it looks like I made the right decisions in the bullpen as they finished the game on a very positive note.
