Montpelier - John Edwards has emerged the winner of the Vermont primary. Edwards pulled out the victory by the narrowest of margins, edging out current Democratic frontrunner Christopher Dodd by a scant few thousand votes.
While it represents just a small difference in delegate count, the win is a much needed one for the Edwards campaign, ensuring that campaign finances will remain healthy for the near term.
Governor Bill Richardson did not campaign in Vermont due to financial constraints, and was a non-factor in the results.
