My finest baseball moment:
It was the championship game, when I was playing at the midget level... or maybe bantam. Anyway. The regulation length is 6 innings. They tie the game in the bottom of the 6th (the score was 26-26!), so I come in with one out and runners on. I strike two guys out. Next inning, the first extra inning, we get nothing. I give them nothing either. The inning after, we score 2, and I hold them for the win, 28-26. It still surprises me that We managed to score 52 runs in the first six innings and managed only 2 in the following two innings. That was memorable.
My friend on the other team tells me that his coach was furious after the game, even going as far as demeaning his players by saying "You guys didn't do ANYTHING right tonight!", to which my friend replied "Well, our hitting wasn't so bad".
We still talk about it several, several years later
