October 2008 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche

11th October 2008

Wouldn't be good to lose game 2 as well. Hopefully Bush can stay unbeaten in his sixth career playoff start.

Game #167 – Milwaukee [3-1] (D. Bush 0-0, 7.11 ERA) at New York [4-0] (P. Humber 0-0, 1.50 ERA)

SS C. Izturis - RF G. Gross - LF R. Braun - 1B P. Fielder - C J. Estrada - CF J. Upton - 3B M. Reynolds - 2B O. Infante

This was a really worthy playoffgame with two very dominant pitchers. We took a 1-0 lead in the fourth, which the Mets tied in the seventh. They had a good chance to win it in the ninth, when the were caught stealing third with no outs. When Bush left the game after nine full innings, troubles began. We couldn't bring home pinch runner Cain. The Mets did much better with their pinchhitter Carp and took therefore a 2-0 lead.

Milwaukee at New York: 1-2 (10)

W: D. Sanchez (1-0); L: B. Shouse (0-1)
HR: - / C. Gomez (1)
SB: L. Cain (1) / J. Reyes (1), C. Gomez (1)
CS: P. Fielder (1) / J. Reyes (1)
E: D. Bush, J. Estrada / -
MoM: D. Bush
- 9.0 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, O BB, 1 K

New York leads series, 2 to 0.

Elsewhere:

Boston
at Tampa Bay: 7-4

W: J. Beckett (3-0), L: J. Howell (1-1)
SV: J. Papelbon (5)
HR: J. Drew (2), J. Natale (4) / T. Wiggington (1), R. Baldelli (3)
Boston leads series, 2 to 0.

We demote Elmer Dessens to AAA, because Aaron Cook refuses getting demoted.
