October 2008 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche
13th October 2008
This is a must win game. I'm quite sure we won't overcome a three game deficit against the Mets superiour pitching. Hopefully Capuano can deliver on the mound and behind the plate. The Mets will also send a lefty to the mound, which means Blanco gets the start. Good to control their running game.
Game #166 –New York [5-0] (W. Collazo 0-0, 0.00 ERA) at Milwaukee [3-2] (C. Capuano 1-0, 1.00 ERA)
2B C. Izturis - CF J. Upton - LF R. Braun - 1B P. Fielder - 3B M. Reynolds - RF L. Cain - SS A. Escobar - C H. Blanco
A very wild one which saw us already close to ellimination. Braun had a great day at the plate, but his homers just managed to tie the game at 4. We gave the bullpen nevertheless a 6-4, but closer Fujita blew the save. Mets closer Wagner took the mound in the bottom of the night, loaded the bases with no outs, but pitched out of trouble. With two outs he had a full count on pinch hitter Gabe Gross who just stood there to take ball four giving us the walk off victory. The Mets suffered another blow when they learnt that 3B Wright is out for two weeks. Currently they have no other player on the playoff roster who can play 3B
