[LW] (WBC) Joe Gans 29-1-0 (7) v/s Jack McAuliffe 30-4-0 (23)
Gans continued his winning ways tonight with a crowd pleasing slugfest of a victory. He chose to stand in and fight a little more than anyone would have thought and McAuliffe just got worn down. In the ninth Gans had McAuliffe against the ropes and was landing at will, the ref stopped the fight after Gans had landed 60 unanswered punches.
(WBC) Joe Gans 30-1-0 (8) (TKO 9) Jack McAuliffe 30-5-0 (23)

[FW] (WBC) Young Griffo 26-1-1 (10) v/s George Dixon 24-5-0 (4) {Round 4}
The first two rounds were split between the two but in the third Dixon landed a clean uppercut as Griffo was coming in that landed flush on Griffo's nose causing a gash across the bridge. That seemingly took Griffo out of his game and eventually led to the stoppage.

McGovern really showed is age and inexperience in this fight. There were several times during the fight that Terry was just posturing, not throwing punches. Luckily for McGovern the scorecards came out a majority draw.
