Beta Baseball entering its 23rd season, looking for members

Hey! We're looking for a few owners, so we'd like for you to consider joining us. We're a fictional league playing with talents only, and use setting more or less reminiscent of the 1970's - 4-man rotations, reasonable power numbers, etc.

Here is the list of the open teams we have:

***TAKEN*** Maisonneuve Marauders
The Marauders are a middling team, having finished in 4th place last year. Now free of the contract of franchise player Keller Addison, as well as former MVP Blue Blue Lean, who are now free agents, they are in a financially comfortable position. They have pretty thin talent, other than Gregory Gardiner, their 1B/OF who is a 2-time defending MVP, and possibly the best hitter in the league; he'll be a free agent at the end of the year, though, so he could be good trade bait. OOTP ranks their farm system as the second best. Overall, an interesting team to take over.

***TAKEN ***Proletarian Knot Sfeer
The Sfeer is a very disappointing team - they are loaded with some of the best players in the league, yet they couldn't do better than a 4th place (out of 6) last year. They are in financial difficulty, sadly, but they could vanish if their stars decide to play well. They feature Ian Worang, a starting pitcher among the 3 best ever to play in the league, supported by three very capable starters. Their lineup features Mathieu Hallé, Hewlett Boise and Ricky Ho, as well as other capable hitters. We thought this team could contend consistently, but apparently not. It will be your job to bring this team back to either financial or on-field success.

Skojpp Bombers

A powerhouse. The Bombers finished 2nd last year, losing a mere 63 games. They have a low payroll for a strong team, so if you're the kind of person who wants to tailor-build their team through free agency, this is the perfect place to start. With the right elements, this team could contend again, for sure, as early as this year. The team is getting very, very old, though, so getting younger would be a good idea. They play in an extreme home run park, so if you like sluggers, you'll feel right at home.

***TAKEN*** The Pines Verts
The biggest "project" team here. They have no fans, and finished 5th out of 6 last year. They have a solid but old core with Wallace Jenkin and Loyd Meadows, but thankfully they can also count on a bunch of promising youngsters such as Mirko Younce, Jerry Ambrose, Nelle van Oosterom and Ira Verbiest. They'll need a lot of help to reach the top, though.

***TAKEN*** George Falls Barons
This team sucks. Bad. They have 4 players above 1 star on their big league squad. Fortunately, they are very comfortable financially, so it's very good for rebuilding (although the lack of talent in their minor league system will hurt them). This is one of our most prestigious franchises, but one who's been awful in the past several seasons. If you like projects, you're served!

If you're interested in joining, look up our website at Beta Baseball. and feel free to PM me. Our free agency period starts in a week, May the 13th, so you have time to get acquainted with your team before the party starts!
