I think it has to be your PC. I did the import last night with my 6.12 league and it went smoothly. Only issue I have is the facf that history (i.e. players' minor league career stats) isn't imported with it. As a way to hopefully retrieve most of that data, I'm trying to utilize one of those utilities designed by Larry Anderson at www.planetootp.com, and my computer seemed to go into a freeze. I guess you need to install Microsoft Windows .NET framework to run it ; the download took forever, then when it was installing .NET to my PC, it got about halfway before it stopped and seemed to stall. I ended up canceling out as it was getting late. If I have time, I'll give it another shot tonight.

I did send an email to Larry with questions about whether his utilities will convert my player/league history from 6.12 format to OOTP8/2007. A second glance over his website shows he has something for 6.5 files, and another utilitiy for 6.x files to 2006 only.

My initial reaction just looking at the OOTP8 version of the team page is,"Wow! My eyes are killing me!" Seems to be just a little too much to look at. Sometimes, people underestimate the power of simplicity. In the meantime, I'm anxious to test drive the game before my trial ends in a couple of weeks. I know I'll probably be lost the first few days as I get used to the game interface, but if it stays complicated to navigate around, I may just upgrade my 6.12 to 6.5 as it seems there are folks on the boards here who are content staying at that version.
