The thread title immediately made me think of the historical league I'm running.
I started in 1969 playing as the Royals. We've been very successful and now in 1978 we've clinched a playoff berth in hopes of winning our
sixth straight title.
I acquired Rick Reuschel after the 1975 season by trading Ken Griffey and JR Richard to the Cubbies. He's been great for us and in '78 he had 20 wins by the end of August. I sent him out in a meaningless September game to try to pad his win total.
He was able to pick up win #21 on the year.
Unfortunately...
There goes my #2 starter.
On the upside, I suddenly have a lots of budget room.
