Please devote the resources to the core OOTP game instead. There are still many major improvements needed in the game, including a vastly improved drafting AI for historical and fictional leagues, historical transaction models for the early decades of baseball, automatic updates of minor league affiliations and ballparks for historical play, and adding some graphical elements to the game.
I fail to see how OOTP Online will create any of those features or any number of others that people have requested.
PLEASE do not go down the same stupid path as Sports Interactive. They got obsessed with the idea of tapping into new audiences and expanding the product line, and the end result was neglect of the core product.
If you want to bring OOTP to new audiences, I have two words for you: viral marketing.
